Dillard congratulates York High School cross country team, coach on their unprecedented achievement

Elmhurst’s York Community High School championship cross country team and their celebrated Coach Joe Newton visited the Illinois Statehouse Dec. 5, where State Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Westmont) and his Senate colleagues congratulated the team on its 28th state championship win.
“What the York cross country team has accomplished is unprecedented in Illinois sports. Congratulations to the cross country team and their coaches—particularly Coach Joe Newton who, with over fifty years of exemplary coaching experience, is a legend in the sports community. Go Dukes!” said Dillard.
